About Us

What is a Gospel Hall?

A place where those who love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ gather for worship, prayer, and Bible teaching.

To which denomination do we belong?

The Christians who meet at the Gospel Hall do not belong to any denomination or take any distinctive title other than that of Christians; we believe this to be in accordance with God’s Word, the Bible.

What do we believe?

  • That the Bible is the inspired Word of God for all mankind.
  • That Jesus Christ is God, and coming to earth became man, so that he might draw near to men to bless them.
  • That on the  cross the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, and rose again.
That we can be saved from our sins and the penalty they incur, through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • That the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again at any moment to take all who believe in Him to Heaven.
  • That in the future the Lord Jesus Christ will return again to earth to establish his Kingdom and reign for a thousand years.
  • That all who have opposed God down through the ages will be judged and punished eternally.

What is our responsibility to you?

We must declare the Gospel (good news) of Christ to all.

If you would like to know more about us, or the Bible that we believe; if you have concerns about life after death; if you would like a visit from us; or if you would like to visit the Gospel Hall but need transport: please contact us.  We will endeavour to show you love and care worthy of our risen Lord Jesus Christ.

What do we practice?

  • We seek to follow the teaching of the New Testament in what we do.
  • We read in the book of Acts (Ch.2 v.41-42): “Then they that gladly received His word were baptized…… And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”.
  • Baptism. The first step for a Christian who has trusted in Christ, this is baptism by immersion in water.
  • Apostles’ doctrine. The teaching in the New Testament which guides us as to how we should conduct ourselves individually and as a church. We therefore hold teaching and Bible study meetings.
  • Fellowship. The Bible makes it clear that meeting together with other Christians in the local church is not simply a casual matter, but we all have an on going responsibility to our fellow Christians.
  • Breaking of Bread. In the New Testament we find that believers met to break bread every Sunday. (Acts 20 v.7) The Lord Jesus also said to his disciples, in the upper room before he went to the cross.  “This do in remembrance of me”. This is an opportunity for those who have been obedient to His word (as set out above) to meet to worship and remember the Saviour.
  • Prayers. The way in which we as individuals and as a church speak to God. Prayer is vital for our spiritual well-being.
